Global Y Trainee Programme

Through offering overseas internship opportunities, the Global Y Trainee Programme served almost 1,000 students since it was first launched in 2004. An appreciable partnership has been developed with over 30 countries and regions in six continents to offer students with valuable opportunities to work abroad during summer. The Programme has continually received positive feedback from students, who often describe their working experience as rewarding and meaningful.

 

Goals of Internship

  • To develop positive working attitude and enhance the employability of young people in their future career;
  • To allow young people to develop their leadership skills, communication skills, and sense of responsibility; and to explore their unique potentials;
  • To promote international youth movement by raising youths' awareness of global issues;
  • To act as a platform that fosters friendship across cultures and countries around the globe.

 

Programme Period

Promotion and recruitment: November to February (promotion period may vary across different institutions)
Overseas Internship: May to August (4 to 10 weeks)

 

The job nature of the internship may include, but not limited to the followings:

  • Organising Camping activities
  • Leading Programme/ Interest Classes / Summer Programme
  • Teaching
  • Assisting Day Care/ Child Care Service
  • Providing Administrative / Clerical support
