Do you wish to discover the vibrant Colombian culture and make a positive impact on local communities? The Joint-U Colombia Cultural & Service Tour 2023-24 (hereafter referred to as "The Programme") offers a unique opportunity for you to experience the true essence of this incredible country while engaging in meaningful volunteer work. Not only will you have the chance to serve local communities directly, but you will also connect with Colombian youths for cultural exchange and have the opportunity to visit Chinese enterprises to learn more about the development of the Belt and Road Initiative in Colombia!

About the Programme
Eligibility: Full-time students (permanent HKSAR residents with the HKID card) aged 17-24 with valid University & College YMCA membership. (Membership application is open all-year-round. CLICK HERE for membership application.)
Programme Fee: $16,500# + $1,000* refundable deposit
(Programme fee includes flight tickets, meals, accommodation, insurance, transportation and programme activities..etc with YMCA subsidy.)
# $1,000 subsidy will be offered to participants who obtain the "YM Global Citizenship Award Scheme" Gold Award
*Deposit is refundable upon completion of the programme. See "Programme Remarks" for more details.
Language: Cantonese (for pre-trip and post-trip activities) and English (programmes in Colombia)

Important Remarks:

Participants MUST attend all preparation meetings before departure. The University & College YMCA Department reserves the right to terminate the participation of any individual in the Programme, and participants may be liable for any costs incurred from the programme, if they fail to attend all preparation meetings without pre-approval. An exemption may apply to participants who can provide written proofs (such as unavoidable academic reasons/sick leave) in case they cannot attend any session of the programme.

Deposit is fully refundable upon full attendance of all pre-trip meetings, overseas trip, post-trip meetings & activities and completion of requirements of "YM Global Citizenship Award Scheme" Gold Award, with satisfactory performance throughout the programme.

Participants who are awarded with "YM Global Citizenship Award Scheme" Gold Award can obtain $1,000 subsidy.

This Programme is funded by "Funding Scheme for International Youth Exchange 2023-24" of Home and Youth Affairs Bureau and Youth Development Commission.

Applicants shall not be joining other projects under the Funding Scheme for International Youth Exchange 2023-24. The Organiser and government reserve the rights to recover the subsidies.
