Overseas & Local Internship

Since 2004, the Global Y Trainee Programme has served almost 1,000 students to gain overseas working experience across over 30 countries and regions in 6 continents and continually received positive feedback from students.
Jointly organised by the University & College YMCA Department and different service units of Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong since 2020, the YM Talents Local Summer Internship Programme aims to provide a platform for university students to unleash their potential in various aspects, explore their possibilities and understand the operation of NGOs in Hong Kong.

The programme has broadened my horizons. During my internship, I was given opportunities to try different jobs. In my free time, my host family always brought me to visit different social service department in Siegerland. It was also a good chance for me to explore the culture in Germany.

A lot of excursions to the city and the countryside were arranged for us and we all enjoyed the happy times together. Through these experiences, I learnt a lot more about Ukraine and changed my impression to this country.

The campsite offers unique opportunities to be programme facilitators with the combination of high events and sea challenges. Each activity would carry its leading techniques and safety precautions, as well as fine adjustments in delivery with respect to the age and the training purpose of the clients. There are loads of skills, either soft or hard, to be acquainted from sharings from colleagues, as well as first-hand experiences from facilitative work during the programme.
