To raise members' awareness and understanding of social issues and promote their concern for the disadvantaged through voluntary services and activities related to social issues.
To unite the power of student executives and members from different institutions and make greater positive impact to the society via the joint-u service programmes.
A number of our previous student executives have formed a voluntary group "Mission Until Dawn" since 2016 after they had ended their terms of service at their respective University YMCAs. They cared about the play rights and holistic development of the children in developing countries through organising "Playground Builder" service trips to build playgrounds in those countries. The group has received awards and media coverage to acknowledge their good work.
Since 2004, the Global Y Trainee Programme has served almost 1,000 students to gain overseas working experience across over 30 countries and regions in 6 continents and continually received positive feedback from students.
Jointly organised by the University & College YMCA Department and different service units of Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong since 2020, the YM Talents Local Summer Internship Programme aims to provide a platform for university students to unleash their potential in various aspects, explore their possibilities and understand the operation of NGOs in Hong Kong.
