“Juggling with Kids”– Joint-U SEN Children Service Programme: Join Us by 29 Dec!
What a year! Have you accomplished any plans or targets you have set for 2022? Or have you started planning for the coming year? Consider taking on a new interest in which you could serve children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and have great fun with them!
This programme consists of three parts: a training session to learn about the needs of the SEN children, juggling classes and a day camp with new sports experience. By accompanying SEN children to learn the traditional yet unique artistry, you’ll be able to foster children’s growth and enhance your understanding of the SEN community.

Programme Details
Eligibility: Full-time tertiary students aged 18-29 with valid University & College YMCAs membership (Membership application is open all-year-round. CLICK HERE)
Date: January to early February 2023
Programme Details: 5 sessions in total, as shown below:
Session 1: Volunteer Training

Content: To learn about the SEN community (e.g. ADHD, ASD etc.); pre-juggling lesson (plate-spinning, diabolo and scarf-throwing) for volunteers |
Session 2-4: Juggling Lesson

Content: To learn one of the three juggling skills (the type of the juggling skills will depend on interest of the SEN children |
Session 5: Final Showcase with New Sports Experience

Content: Juggling performance by all participants; enjoying the new sports Dodgebee with SEN children and their parents. |
#Visitors must meet the requirements of “Vaccine Pass” and use “Leave Home Safe” mobile app when entering the venue.
*Fee: $150 + $100 (refundable deposit)

*Programme fee will be used to purchase juggling equipment for the SEN children;
*Deposit refundable upon completion of the programme with satisfactory performance;
*Exemption may apply to participants who are able to provide written proofs (such as unavoidable academic reasons/sick leave) in case they are unable to attend any session of the programme. University & College YMCA Department of Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong reserves the right of final decision for any disputes.
