Animal Shelters Service X Detective Game X Animal Toys Workshop

Except for studying in this new term, have you ever thought of doing voluntary service and playing games at the same time? Would you like to meet new friends from different universities? The chance is coming! 

To increase public awareness  on stray dogs & cats, this mass service programme held in November comprises detective game, dog toys workshop and service day at animal shelters in which participants will be able to know more about the life and difficulties faced by stray animals in Hong Kong. In the detective game, you are called to help the stray animal to find its owner.You will also be guided to make dog toys and deliver them to the animal shelters where you perform voluntary work on the service day. All programme fees will be used to purchase food for around 500 stray dogs & cats.

Basic Information

Eligibility: Full-time tertiary students aged 17-29  (Participants must be members of University & College YMCA. Membership application is open all-year-round. To apply for / renew membership, please click  HERE)

Service Targets: Stray animal shelters and stray dogs & cats 

【Activity Day: Detective Game X Animal Toys Workshop】

Date: 14 November 2021 (Sun)

Time: 11:00 - 14:00 (1st session) / 15:00 - 18:00 (2nd session) (Attend one session only)

Venue: YMCA College of Careers (Yau Ma Tei)

Content:

- Detective Game: As the detectives, you are called to help the stray animal find its owner

- DIY Animal Toys workshop: Making DIY dog rope toys for the stray animal shelters

【Service Day: Animal Shelters Service Day】

Date: 20 November 2021 (Sat) or 21 November 2021 (Sun)

Content: Visit stray animal shelters, deliver food, clean the sites and walk the dogs. 

Attend only one session from A or B:

A2---13:00-17:00 Big Tree (Tai Wai)

A3---14:30-18:00 Home for Homeless Dog (Tai Po)

A4---16:00-19:00 Street Cats Hostel (Kwun Tong)

B:  21 November 2021 (Sun)

B1---10:00-14:00 Pet With You (Tsuen Wan)

B2---11:00-13:00 Sai Kung Stray Friends (Sai Kung)

B3---12:00-17:00 Kelly Animals Shelter (Lau Fau Shan)

B4---16:00-19:00 Street Cats Hostel (Kwun Tong)

*******All participants are required to join both Activity Day and Service Day*******

Programme Fee#: 

$100/person (for Group Application of 2-3 persons)

$120/person (for Individual Application)

#All fees will be used to purchase food for over 500 stray animals
