5-month internship in Colombia!

Looking for challenges and a fruitful experience in the coming year? We are now recruiting Cultural Agents for YMCA Colombia! If you wish to empower Colombian children and teens by teaching them English, and work with people from different cultures, here comes a great opportunity for you. Apply now to be a Cultural Agent to gain teaching experience or to volunteer abroad and make an impact!
By joining this programme, it’s expected that you can:
- gain overseas working and teaching experience
- learn about Colombian culture through the eyes of its community and youth
- work and make friends with locals and international volunteers
Eligibility
- Members of University &College YMCAs aged 21 to 39 (Membership application is open all-year-round. For membership application, please apply here.)
- Postgraduates & university graduates are preferred
Interns Requirements
- Good command of the English language (C1 level)
- Experiences in leading recreational and camp programmes for children and youths are preferred
- Experience in English teaching are preferred
- Mature and responsible with strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
- Flexible and adaptive to different work and challenges

28 January 2023 - 27 June 2023 (5 months) |

Location: |
Bogotá, Colombia |
|
Internship Duties: |
Work with local teachers and assist in teaching English in local school/university (Mostly located in Bogotá D.C., limited placements available in nearby towns)
Lead camp and activities
|
|
Service Targets: |
Individuals aged 5 – 17 and university students (young adults) |
|
Monthly Stipend: |
Approx. USD$200 |
|
Programme Fee: |
HKD $3,000* + HKD $1,000 Deposit *Including meals & accommodation in host families |
|
Additional Expenses to be paid by Interns:

|
#Deposit will be forfeited if the intern fails to complete the followings:
-
attend all the pre-departure briefing sessions with YMCA Colombia and University & College YMCA Department
-
submit a reflective journal with not less than 400 words in English and not less than 10 service photos after the internship
-
attend the evaluation meeting with staff of University & College YMCA Department on or before 31 Jul 2023
-
submit the online self-evaluation form
-
complete the programme with satisfactory performance and full attendance
