Through offering overseas service internship opportunities, the Global Y Trainee Programme has served almost 1,000 students since it was first launched in 2004. The Programme has continually received positive feedback from students. 【Programme Features】

4-10 weeks service internship at a designated overseas YMCA service centre/campsite

One-on-one support from staff of University & College YMCA Department and overseas YMCA
【Programme Details*】
Eligibility: Full-time local students aged 18-29 with valid University & College YMCA membership (Membership application is open all-year-round. CLICK HERE for membership application.)
Internship Period: June to Mid-August 2023 (4-10 weeks)
Scope of work: Youth & Children Service, Camp Service, Teaching or Administrative Supports etc.
Internship Duties:
- Plan and provide activities in centres or campsites for children and youths;
- Organise creative or cultural programmes for service targets;
- Provide administrative / logistics / back-end support for centres and/or campsites; and
- On-site job assignments by local supervisors.

Programme Fee: $5,000 up (varies with the internship locations) + $1,000 deposit

【Joint-U Online Information Session】
Content: Programme Introduction, Application Procedures, Sharing of Past Trainees, Q&A Session

$1,000 deposit#
#The $1,000 deposit will be forfeited if the trainee fails to complete the followings by 15 September 2023:
1. Attend all pre-departure training and post-trip activities (if any) and the evaluation meeting;
2. Submit a progress report of not less than 100 words in both Chinese and English with 3 working photos in the middle of the internship period;
3. Submit the Overseas Supervisor Feedback Form;
4. Submit a reflective journal of not less than 500 words in English, the online self-evaluation form and at least 10 working photos after the internship;
5. Prepare a 10-min presentation to summarise your internship experience for the evaluation meeting; and
6. Complete the Programme with satisfactory performance and full attendance.
