YM Talent Local Summer Internship Programme 2022 

 

Launched since 2020, "YM Talents Local Summer Internship Programme“ is jointly organised by the University & College YMCA Department and different service units of Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong. This programme aims to provide a platform for university students to excel their talents, develop their potential and gain working experience in NGOs. 

By joining this programme, interns can: 

  • enrich their working experience in NGOs by working with other staff of the centre/campsite and assisting staff in programme delivery; 

  • increase their understanding of local communities by serving and interacting with the service targets; and 

  • demonstrate their capabilities and explore their potential, paving future career path in the social welfare sector. 

Programme Details 

Orientation & Training Workshop:   

Early June, 2022 

Internship Period:
 

18 July 2022 – 28 August 2022, 6 weeks in total 
(Interns may need to work in the evenings and during weekends, depending on the work arrangement and nature of programmes) 

Working Hours : 

44 hours per week (Mon-Sun, on shift) 

Internship Location: 
 

Interns will be allocated to work in one of the following service units of Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong: 

Job Duties: 

 

 Camp Service* 

  • To assist in leading f2f/online activities, outdoor camps, interest groups etc 

  • To support the daily routines of service units, including programme promotion and recruitment, administrative work, reception work etc 

  • To assist in the maintenance and repair of campsite infrastructure and equipment and other duties assigned by on-site supervisors 

  • Interns may need to stay overnight in the campsite depending on the arrangement of activities 

  • Trainings will be provided in June 

 *Y's Men - YMCA Wong Yi Chau Youth Camp: Water sports and activities are involved. 

 Children Service 

  • To assist in preparing, executing and leading programmes, e.g. outdoor camps, online activities and interest groups  

  • To assist in programme recruitment and promotion 

  • To support the daily routines of service units, including programme promotion and recruitment, administrative work, reception work etc and other duties assigned by on-site supervisors 

  • Training will be provided in June 

Total Salary: 

HKD $12,000 for the whole internship period

Requirements 

  • Flexible and adaptive to different work and challenges  

  • Proactive, responsible and independent  

  • A good and supportive team player 

  • Interested in the social welfare sector, camp services, children services 

  • Experiences in outdoor camp activities, programme leading, community service, children services will be an advantage
